Christmas blessings

The month of December is an appropriate time to look back, take stock of our lives and be grateful for all the people who helped us along the way.

If you need help remembering, let me make a list:

* Family members who are there for us in fair and stormy weather.

* Our loyal friends who hold our hand during the sad times in our life and keep us strong with their unconditional love and friendship.

* The mailman who brings us good and bad news.

* The newspaper carrier who delivers our day's news.

* Work associates who help us get our job done.

* The automotive mechanics who keep our automobiles running.

* The bus driver/train operator who takes us to our destinations.

* The delivery folks who bring our lunch at work.

* The transients in our life who bring us momentary joys.

* Our significant others who make us feel loved and inspire us to do our best.

* The checkout clerks who do their work with courtesy, enthusiasm and promptness so that we can go on our merry way.

* Everyone who give us service all year round... the gardening folks who mow our lawn and make our gardens look pretty... the trash collection people who do their jobs with integrity... the plumbers and electricians who fix our household problems... many others who make our lives easier.

* The parish priests and pastors who pray for everyone's well being.

* The medical professionals who heal and nurture the sick.

* Internet information gatherers who keep us up-to-date with current trends and data.

* The mass media folks who keep us abreast with news around the world.

* The blessing of homeownership during this tough real estate market.

* Gainful employment when jobless others continue to struggle looking for work.

The list goes on... and there is an abundance of blessings to be thankful for.

My wish for all is to be able to take a moment in the hecticness of this season to give thanks for the precious grace of being blessed.  Everyone has been showered (visible and invisible) divine favors.  If we can take the time to dig deep into our soul, we'll be able to see where our good fortune lies  Then, chances are, we'll feel the gratitude that comes with feeling blessed.
