People of a lesser god

Last week a 20-year old college student named Khalid Ali-M Aldawsari from Saudi Arabia was charged with plotting a terrorist attack on U.S dams, nuclear plants and former President G.W. Bush’s Dallas home which he referred to as "Tyrant's House."  Twelve dams in California and Colorado were targeted and one sits right in my own backyard.

The plan was to hide the explosive materials inside infant dolls and baby carriages and to convert a cell phone into a remote detonator.  According to news reports, this guy has been living quietly on a student visa on U.S. soil for over two years.  He mastered the English language and learned to build explosives.  Then he made online purchases of the chemicals he needed to assemble his weapon of mass destruction.  He sent to himself e-mails listing the 12 dams targeted.  Confessing to being influenced by Osama bin Laden speeches and the desperation he felt for the Muslim plight, he wrote in his private journal that “it is time for jihad.”  Jihad is a holy war undertaken by Muslims as a sacred duty.  By his own admission, he had planned the attack for years even before coming to the U.S.

Fortunately, one of the chemical companies he purchased from noticed the suspicious activity and reported the matter to the FBI.  The shipping company also notified the FBI based on suspicion that the order wasn’t intended for commercial use.  Federal agents immediately went to task and tracked his other online transactions, in the process discovering his radical posts on the Internet.  What followed was the tracing of his off-campus apartment and subsequent search of his computer, diary and e-mail accounts where the disastrous plan was revealed .  Thank You, Jesus!

TNP, the chemical explosive he attempted to obtain, is said to have the same destructive power as TNT (Trinitrotoluene).  TNT is one of the most commonly used explosives for industrial and military applications.  The FBI discovered in Aldawsari's possession almost 15 pounds of explosive, the same amount used per bomb in the London lethal subway attacks in July 2005.

Aldawsari is in the U.S. studying chemical engineering in a Texas university.  An industrial company in Saudi Arabia is reportedly footing his tuition bill and living expenses in the U.S.  He is not the first alien with terrorism on their mind who has benefited from U.S. training and generosity.  It's sad to think that this young man was plotting mass destruction instead of planning his own bright future.

Obviously, there are foreigners like him who hate my country so much that they are consumed with its destruction.  They don't care how many innocent lives might be endangered or lost as long as they can fulfill their deadly mission.  Peace-abiding citizens can only pray that such haters of America will not succeed in their evil plans to cause havoc in this beautiful land.  America is blessed that our central intelligence and national security people are doing a great job in fixing the problem before it became a national catastrophe.  Obviously, God loves this country because He has showered it with His unconditional protection.  I wish that alien extremists will give up their destructive dreams of hurting this nation.

Worldwide peace can’t happen because disgruntled citizens of the world continue to block peace efforts.  It's time that they got out of the way.
