When dreaming isn’t enough

After reading my blog, “Manifesting the Dream,” my brother sent me the following comments:

On Oprah Winfrey…

“I believe Oprah is one of those humans especially chosen by God for a great mission.  She's been entrusted with great wealth that she can use for the good and betterment of people whose lives she will touch and has touched…"

On manifesting…

“… faith can really move mountains, as Jesus Christ Himself said.  But it is not by believing alone that one gets what he wants but also by working (hard, if need be) for it.  ‘Faith without works is dead.’ I tremendously enjoyed reading your blogs…  Keep on writing because, by using your God-given talent for the good of humankind, you will find contentment in your soul.  Your writings confirm that God especially crafted you for it!  As the good book says, "Whatever your hands set out to do, do it with all your might!"

Thank you, dear bro, for the kind words and encouragement!  I concur with your comment that hard work should accompany our dreams.  Likewise it is my belief that when we faithfully manifest our desired future, the right people and opportunities will come into our life to make it happen.

Just sitting around dreaming of winning the lottery won’t help make the dream come to life, if buying the ticket isn’t pursued.  One huge lottery winner named Cynthia Stafford not only kept the dream of holding the oversized check for $112 million dollars every night, she made it a habit to buy the tickets.  Then one day, she did hit the exact $112 million jackpot she had always visualized!  Her other dream was to make movies which has also become her reality after setting up her own production company.

My school of thought is that manifestation should be accompanied by a good heart.  I am of the belief that the Universe is more willing to grant our wish if we have good intentions attached to our desired goals.  If we are on the right path in the pursuit of our destiny, there is no reason that the Universe will not allow that fate to become a reality.

Oprah Winfrey had said it many times on her show.  “Luck is preparation meeting opportunity.”  We have to prepare ourselves for that moment in time when we finally find ourselves at the exact place with the right people who will be instrumental in making our dreams come true.  After all, no man is an island, and we alone can’t make our success happen.  We might have the gem of an idea, but unless we have the collaborative resources available at our finger tips, that diamond in the rough will never get polished.

It isn’t a bad practice to dream, but without doing anything about it, the desired success will not turn into reality.  This manifesting concept isn’t all that simple because just as my dear brother emphasized, hard work is involved.  But if we’re on the right track, and we’re deserving of the blessing, things will happen that will bring the fulfillment of what we envision our life to be.

In the meantime that our dream hasn't come to pass, let's train ourselves to be thankful for everything that comes along.  No matter what the day brings, we must be grateful because everything, good or bad, comes into our life to enrich our experience.  Depending on how we perceive it, whether it’s a lesson to be learned or a misfortune to recover from, it should ultimately make us richer for it.

Let's continue daily to manifest our dreams, but more importantly, let's work hard to make them happen!
